The ethics committee of world football governing body, FIFA has opened formal proceedings against Nigerian administrator Amos Adamu. Adamu was a member of FIFA's Executive Committee for four years until 2010, when he was banned for three years after being found guilty of taking bribes in exchange for World Cup votes. Although he continues to deny the accusation, the 62-year-old is facing another ban over alleged breaches of FIFA’s code of ethics since March 2015. According to a FIFA statement, Adamu violated three articles-covering general rules of conduct, loyalty and conflict of interest-of it’s Code of Ethics. The investigatory chamber of FIFA is now recommending a two-year ban and a fan for the former member of the CAF /FIFA Exco and WAFU president. "For reasons linked to privacy rights and the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, the adjudicatory chamber will not publish further details at the present time," the statement reads.
