Madonna applies to adopt two more children during her visit to Malawi

Madonna has reportedly applied to adopt two more children from Malawi just over a decade after adopting David Banda. The Like A Virgin singer is said to have made the application in person during a visit to the country's capital city of Lilongwe, according to AFP. Mlenga Mvula, a spokesman for the Lilongwe High Court, said the process would take a week, adding: "The court is looking at the application now to determine whether Madonna can adopt these two children."

She appeared before Justice Fiona Mwale accompanied by two unidentified children and several other people, before being driven away in an SUV vehicle. Madonna - who is also mother to Lourdes, 19, with Carlos Leon, and Rocco, 15, with her former husband Guy Ritchie - will learn the decision on her application next week. A source told the Mirror: “Madonna has a deep affiliation with Malawi and has always wanted to do what she can to help those in need.

“Not only does she oversee her charity she is determined to try and give it’s children a better life.” It would not be the first time the star has adopted a child from the country. In October 2006, Madonna adopted a boy called David Banda as she visited while doing charity work. Meanwhile, the singer has recently defended her comments about Donald Trump after claiming she wanted to 'blow up the White House'.

The singer was amongst thousands of women who joined a protest march in Washington DC to protest the 45th President of the United States - but her speech at the rally, which was criticised on social media, led some television networks to abruptly stop their live feeds of the march.

The star wrote on Instagram: "I am not a violent person. "I spoke in metaphor and I shared two ways of looking at things - one was to be hopeful, and one was to feel anger and outrage, which I have personally felt."
