Ex-CBN gov denies plan to contest for Anambra governorship poll under APC - Charles Soludo
he former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof.Chukwuma Soludo, has clarified that he is not interested in the 2017 Anambra governorship race. Multiple media reports had on Wednesday, January 25, claimed that Soludo and 13 others have indicated to contest the election under the platform of theAll Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC chairman in the state was said to have disclosed to some journalists that Soludo is among the contenders of the election. But the ex-CBN governor stressed that he is not a member of the ruling party, so he could not be vying for a position on its ticket. "I wish to clarify that I am not a member of the APC and could therefore not be contesting for its party nomination,"Soludo said.

He said he has been receiving telephone calls, text messages, and emails from people who wanted to confirm the news. "I also sought and obtained the phone number of the said state chairman and spoke to him in order to ascertain the veracity of the story,"he said. He, however, said the state chairman said he was misquoted by the journalists.
