Pogba scores as Manchester United thump Hull City to qualify for EFL

Premier League giants Manchester United have qualified for the final of the 2017 EFL Cup even after losing 2-1 to Hull City in their second leg encounter on Thursday night January 26, 2017. United went to this game with high hope of making it to the final after beating their opponents 2-0 in the first leg tie thereby qualifying for the final on 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Hull City knew they would have to cancel out the two goals scored by the Red Devils in the first tie for any chance of making it to the final, and they started the match lively as they completely mesmerized their visitors. Tom Huddlestone scored the first goal for the hosts in the 35th minutes, and Manchester United tried all they could to restore parity as they went to the break with Hull City leading. French midfielder Paul Pogba leveled up for Manchester United in the 66th minutes, but Baye Oumar Niasse gave the hosts the lead again in the 85th minutes. Hull City desperately searched for another goal at the death which would have sent the game to extra time, but United held on firmly to pick the final ticket. Manchester United will now face Southampton in the EFL final at the Wembley Stadium.
