The 48-year-old pop star has broken off her engagement to Joshua, 29, and thanked her fans with an Instagram post this morning.

She captioned the shot of a sunset: "#lovers ... Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways.

"We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons. #thesunalwaysrises," she added. The Can’t Get You Out of My Head singer met Joshua on the set of US series Galavant in 2015 and the pair later announced their engagement in February 2016. It's been reported that Kylie suspected the British actor has grown close to Spanish actress Marta Milans.

A source told The Sun: “She is absolutely devastated, totally heartbroken. She really believed he was The One. But she no longer trusts him.”

The actor - who is most known for his role in the ABC series Galavant - met Marta last year and Kylie reportedly became suspicious over their relationship. They worked together on the now axed TV drama No Tomorrow in Vancouver, Canada.

In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Kylie revealed she would take Joshua’s surname once they were married. She said: “Sasse is a great name. Kylie Sasse is a great name. It’s a great stage name. Kylie Minogue has never exactly tripped off the tongue.

“I’ll definitely be taking Sasse but there will be Minogue in there somewhere. Taking a different name makes a statement…” Last weekend, the Australian singer posted a snap on Instagram of her back in the studio.
